In the city of Kobe, disgraced ex-cop Hiro "Maku" McGill is trying to rebuild his life. Into his lap drops the death of Doctor Morita, and a chance to uncover corruption in the police force that ousted him.

As Maku investigates the doctor's shooting at the hands of police, he uncovers a world of illegal augmentations and blackmailed clients. All leading back to a business partner hiding secretes - and the police officer with an itchy trigger finger.

Can Maku break the case open, or will he end up the next victim of a corrupt cop? Two Shot Killer is the first in a series of short stories set in an alt-future Japan and featuring the titular trouble-shooter for hire.
